RAF Northolt

Northolt has been identified as a 'Core Defence Site', with plans to accommodate more units such as the Queen's Colour Squadron and the Central Band of the Royal Air Force as well as British Forces Post Office. The airfield was established in 1915 and in the Second World War it was home to several squadrons involved in the Battle of Britain.

Today it is home to number 32 (The Royal) Squadron, No 1 AIDU (Aeronautical Information Documents Unit), 600 (City of London) Squadron Royal Auxiliary Air Force, Naval Aeronautical Information Centre (NAIC), the Royal Navy Presentation Team and the Army's No 621 Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Squadron of the Royal Logistics Corps.

RAF Northolt is located in the borough of Hillingdon in North West Greater London just inside the M25 (A40 Exit at the Polish War Memorial). The Station is situated near the Ruislip Gardens Tube Station (not Northolt tube station). RAF Northolt is easily accessible by road and rail with Heathrow airport approximately 15 minutes drive or a short tube journey away.

The area has all the amenities you would expect from a heavily populated area with surprising green spaces like the Ruislip Lido to which one can escape. There are two main areas of Service Families Accommodation serving RAF Northolt. Ruislip Gardens SFA’s are within short walking distance of the base.
